Fall 2022 Panthers General Information

Player Selection Criteria

Attitude, Coachability, Skill Level, and Availability.

Team Objectives

Have a fun & positive experience while competing in local tournaments.

Improve upon existing skills, fundamentals, and confidence.

Develop & enhance knowledge of the game.

Learn to compete at a higher and more focused level..

Tournaments

Teams will play in 4 AST Softball Tournaments, starting in the beginning of September through the end of October.. Tournaments are typically 3 seeding games on Saturday leading to single elimination play on Sunday. Teams may play as many as 4 to 5 games on Sunday if the team keeps winning.

Tournament dates will be determined by each Team Manager.

If more than one Panther team is playing at the same location, we encourage players and parents to support the other teams in between their own games. 

Please inform the Team Managers of any planned vacations where the player will not be available to play.

Games

This is not a recreational team. There is no requirement that girls be given any particular amount of playing time. Performance, Attitude, Attendance and Coachability will determine tournament playing time. All girls will get playing time each tournament but will not necessarily play in each game. Teams utilize 9 players offensively and defensively; teams will consist of 13-14 players. Position assignments will be determined by the coaching staff. Players need to earn their positions. All games are 6 innings max with mercy rules applicable depending on the tournament. Games are typically played with a 65 to 90 minute time limit.

Practices

Practices will be 2-3 times a week. Times and dates TBD. Parents & players must be committed to attending practices.  Practice jersey, softball pants, socks, & cleats are required at all practices. 

Off the Field

As representatives of the Panthers organization, players, parents, coaches & fans are expected to display composure and good sportsmanship at all events on and off the field. Parents and players must sign a Code of Conduct agreement.

Financial Commitment

Mandatory non-refundable cost per player will range between $500 - $600; payment options are available. This cost will include two personalized game jerseys, a practice jersey and 2 pairs of socks.  Other uniform items will be available to purchase a la carte.  The cost also covers coaches’ jerseys, tournament entry fees and related costs. Players will be responsible for purchasing their own black pants.

There will also be expenses related to travel that are not covered in the player fees above.

Team Apparel

Panthers Team apparel will be made available for purchase. Panthers’ artwork and designs are trademarks and can only be purchased through Panthers approved vendors.
